Although the new year represents the opportunity to have a new blank canvas, in my experience it’s better not to have so much expectations about it. Of course, I welcome the symbolic aspects of renewal, but I don’t believe in a “New You”… I rather want to think about what I learned in the past year and how can I chug along in the new one.
The oracle/collage today invites us to ask “what did I learn in 2021?”. In this particular answer against the “myth of productivity” there is an invitation to think what is really important and to be aware of our cycles. Not everything needs to be about “what we do” , sometimes is good to wonder “who we are” what are we becoming? Or how we would like to feel? I must admit my year was very busy with work and it was very good, but many times I felt depleted, overwhelmed and stressed. I survived but at what cost?
If we can imagine how a fantastic year would feel like, what would come to mind? Health, time, adventures, magic, love, meaningful conversations…. You name it. The point is to give our self enough space for whatever is meaningful for us, and use the new year mood to cultivate a fresh perspective… the change sometimes is not about the situation but on how we “see” it, or how we talk about it!
The important thing for me is to give more space to wonder and curiosity, to thrive on imagination and take the time to be aware of my environment and my emotions.
So for today, the creatiBe Oracle invites you to do the exercise of not having objectives or aims, but keep your dreams alive. It’s difficult, after all is so tempting to imagine that new you… but what if you simply take note of the wonderful things you are right now and simply make the goal of keep going. A little drawing may help in this.
