This is a new “kid” in the block of Christmas plants. It is originally from Brazil, where flowers in Christmas time until Easter. Linked to the Christian symbolism, it is a period in which we can reflect about love and faith. In the winter, with less light during the days it is easy to get sad or melancholic, yearning for warm and sunny days. But as the cactus show, that warmth and light, is inside our hearts, it is celebrating with friends and family that we enjoy this amazing adventure called life.
It makes me think of Charles Dickens’ book, and Tiny Tim, who never lost his cheer or his goodness: “God bless us, everyone!”
